Awesome Web Discovery 8 – Instructables

Want to know how to do something? Of course you do.

Have no idea how to do it?

Go here. They’ll show you.

Instructables.com is where people can post and watch videos/instruction on how to do bloody anything, from the practical (Four Hour No-Knead Bread) to the truly obscure (Viking Wire Inlay).

Is it feminist? Well, it’s definitely awesome. But what better way to dismantle aspects of gender roles than to make it possible for everyone to have access to knowledge of how to do stuff?

Now excuse me while I research the finer points of building a foundry so I can sand-cast aluminum.

It’s me again. I have posted comments on your page multiple times this semester because I honestly appreciated some of your postings. Your blog allowed me delve deeper into the issues in this class. You brought informaiton into your postings that helped solidify the points you were making. Perhaps the only constructive criticism is that you had a lot of cats and while I do appreciate a feline, I didn’t really get how they corresponded to your postings.

I deeply enjoyed reading your blog. You made a lot of good points, and the way that you backed them up made your points very strong. I also enjoyed how you didn’t make it all serious and boring and I love the LOLcats, they’re cute (I wish I had one but I’m allergic).

Anyway, thanks for all of your hard work, I enjoyed your blog.
